New Lark Press cards!

Well, yes, it has been awhile…but time flies when you're busy…or trying to be less busy…or watching too much HBO.  But here we go again…this time I will focus less on my darling cats and more on Lark Press stuff! info@larkpress.com

Here are some new guys from Lark Press

…(relatively new):

Right now, I am finishing up the designs for the 2015 calendar...

Hello (Thommy) again...

Okay, I'm back....mostly because I really like looking at my own posts... a year or two later. So nostalgic. Plus if I die anytime soon, my friends and family can have something to reminisce about.

Let's see,.... what has happened since my last post...?

so much!
Joshua Tree. Malheur. Hart Mountain. Nisqually Refuge. Winthrop, Washington.

Japanese White-Eye

While traveling on a not-so-remote island in the Pacific, I spotted (and watercolored) this little guy...the Japanese White-Eye. Actually, this not-so-elusive songbird is the most common bird on the Hawaiian islands. Common or not, he is a beauty.

Before I ventured to Hawaii I was absolutely in love with a book by Kate Williamson titled, "A Year in Japan". My plan was similar to hers: draw + watercolor as many interesting aspects as possible of the lovely island of Oahu. But alas, between eating large amounts of Poke, checking out the surfers at Pipeline + Sunset Beach + reading "Eddie Would Go", I just didn't have enough time to draw all the beautiful fauna (except for Mr. White-Eye) + flora (except for a palm tree [sooo typical]).

So, I've decided to start drawing + watercoloring the lovely features of the beautiful state of Oregon. Plenty of time for that. And plenty of beauty.

letterpress + watercolor

I'm taking a non-credit watercolor class at the community college here in lovely Portland, Oregon. So...thought I would try combining my just-learned water coloring techniques with some of my letterpress creations. I have a thing for squirrels. And mushrooms. And ferns. More letterpressed/watercolor combos to come!
